How and when do I take my Day2/Day 8 PCR test?

This information is for Day 2 and Day 8 (PCR) tests only and does not apply to Day 2 Rapid Antigen (Lateral flow) tests

Every package includes step-by-step instructions, which walk you through how to accurately take our tests. If you can’t find your instructions, you can also view and download copies of them from our website

When you come to take your test, you’ll need to register your kit first. This must be done when you're ready to take the test and not before. Taking your test too early may invalidate your result.
  • Day 2 tests should be taken within 48 hours of returning to the UK (on or before Day 2)
  • Day 8 tests should be taken on or after Day 8
Each person who completes a kit needs to register separately. For instance, in a party of 4, one person may have purchased all four kits, but each person within the party needs to register their details and kit themselves. If you’re travelling with children, you can do this on their behalf.
