Test To Release is a simple, five-step scheme that can be used by anyone returning to England from countries not on the UK Government’s Travel Corridor list (check the most up-to-date list here [LINK: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors]). It means you may be able to reduce your self-isolation period from 10 days to just 6 after you arrive. It works like this:
STEP 1: Buy your test online, in advance
Book and pay for your Test To Release kit on our website here [LINK: https://www.chronomics.com/test-to-release]. We just need your flight details and your UK isolation address.
We’ll send you a unique booking reference number to use on your Passenger Locator Form (you can find this on the UK Government website here [LINK: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk]).
STEP 2: Travel to England and isolate
Fly to England and self-isolate at the address you’ve provided (you can find the full UK Government guidance on this here [LINK: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate-when-you-travel-to-the-uk/coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate-when-you-travel-to-the-uk]). We’ll send your testing kit directly to this address, so it’s there for you on Day 5 (please note that your 10-day isolation period begins from the day you leave the country you’re travelling from).
STEP 3: Get tested
Take the test yourself by following the simple instructions you’ll receive with your Chronomics kit – spit in the tube provided and register your test here [LINK: https://app.chronomics.com/register].
STEP 4: Return your sample
Using the pre-paid return envelope provided, drop your sealed sample into a priority postbox (use this website to find your nearest one [LINK: https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you#/]). You’re allowed to leave your self-isolation address to do this. It will be sent to us via Royal Mail Tracked 24 for next-day delivery, and we’ll email you when it arrives at our lab.
STEP 5: Get your results
We’ll email you again as soon as your result is ready, within 24-36 hours of your sample arriving at our lab. If your test is negative – you’re free to end your self-isolation period early, usually by Day 7.
